A batsman makes a score of 64 runs in the
16th innings and thus increased his average
by 3. Find his average after the 16th inning?

15x + 64 = 16( x + 3 )

15x + 64 = 16x + 48

16x - 15x = 64 - 48

x = 16

Average after 16th inning = 16 + 3 = 19

Therefore, Average after 16th inning is 19.
