mean runs scored = total runs scored/total no. of innings

= (36+35+50+46+60+55)/6
= 282/6
= 47 runs

GIVEN:

  • Scores : 35,30,45,60,63,55
  • no. of innings = 6

FIND:

  • Mean scores = ?

SOLUTION:

we know, that

 \bold{mean =  \frac{ ∑_x }{n}  }

where,

\bold{∑_x} = sum of all scores

n = Total no. of innings

put these values in formula if mean we got

 \bold{ \to mean =  \frac{ ∑_x }{n}  }

 \bold{ \to mean =  \frac{ 35 + 30 + 45 + 60  + 63 + 55}{6}  }

 \bold{ \to mean =  \frac{ 288}{6}  }

 \bold{ \to mean =  \frac{ \cancel{ 288}}{ \cancel6}  }

 \bold{ \to mean =  48  }

Hence, mean score is 48.
