A battery of e.m.f 20V and internal resistance 0.2ohmes supplies a load taking 10A. Determine the p.d at the battery terminals and the resistance of the load

If the p.d is V then

V = E - IR

=20v−10A×0.2Ω

=18v

If the resistance of the load is R then,

V = I R

R = 18 / 10

=1.8Ω
