GIVEN:-

emf = 15V

3 ohm and 6 ohm are connected in series with 3 ohm in parallel.

To Find:-

a) the current through the battery.

b) the current in 3 ohm resistor.

c) the current in 6 ohm resistor.

SOLUTION:-

Let's first calculate the parallel resistance.

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{\frac{1}{R}=\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{6}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{\frac{1}{R}=\frac{2+1}{6}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{\frac{1}{R}=\frac{3}{6}}}

By doing reciprocal in both sides,

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{R=\frac{6}{3}}}

\large\red\therefore\boxed{\sf{\red{Parallel\:Resistance=2\:ohm}}}

____________________________

Now the resistance in series.

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{R=2+3}}

\large\red\therefore\boxed{\sf{\red{Series\:Resistance=5\:ohm}}}

____________________________

a)) the current through the battery.

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{V=IR}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{I=\frac{V}{R}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{I=\frac{15}{5}}}

\large\blue\therefore\boxed{\sf{\blue{Current\:through\:the\:battery=3\:ampere}}}

____________________________

b)) the current in 3 ohm resistor.

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{I=\frac{V}{R}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{I=\frac{15}{3}}}

\large\pink\therefore\boxed{\sf{\pink{Current\:in\:3\:ohm\:resistor=5\:ampere}}}

____________________________

c)) the current in 6 ohm resistor.

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{I=\frac{V}{R}}}

\large\Longrightarrow{\sf{I=\frac{15}{6}}}

\large\green\therefore\boxed{\sf{\green{Current\:in\:6\:ohm\:resistor=2.5\:ampere}}}
