Madhya Pradesh being the leading manganese ore producing State accounted for 27% of the total production in 2016-17. Next in the order of production were Maharashtra and Odisha (25% each). The remaining production was reported from Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Telangana
