A beaker containing 2kg of ice is floating in a bucket that contains 5 kg of water. Will the ice absorb heat from the water

Yes, Ice absorbs heat from water.

  • According to Second Law of Thermodynamics, Heat never travels from colder body to hotter body.
  • whenever we put Ice, Water gets colder, its true Water loses heat to get Ice to the same temperature of Water.
