assume beaker capacity x liters
now beaker filled 5/7 of its capacity (5x/7)
remaining beaker capacity 10 liters.
so,
total capacity of beaker (x) = current filled liters (5x/7) + remaining capacity liters (10)
x = (5x/7) + 10
take LCM on left side
x = ( 5x + (10 * 7) ) / 7
x = ( 5x + 70 ) / 7
take 7 on left side
7x = 5x + 70
take 5x on left side
7x - 5x = 70
2x = 70
x = (70 / 2)
x = 35
total capacity of beaker is 35 liters
now beaker filled 5/7 of its capacity (5x/7)
remaining beaker capacity 10 liters.
so,
total capacity of beaker (x) = current filled liters (5x/7) + remaining capacity liters (10)
x = (5x/7) + 10
take LCM on left side
x = ( 5x + (10 * 7) ) / 7
x = ( 5x + 70 ) / 7
take 7 on left side
7x = 5x + 70
take 5x on left side
7x - 5x = 70
2x = 70
x = (70 / 2)
x = 35
total capacity of beaker is 35 liters
