The beaker will overflow if the temperature will be increased or decreased. As water has anomalous expansion. If water of 10 degree centigrade is colled down then at 4 degree centigrade it's volume will be least and when you cool down more then it's volume will increase. So at 4 degree the density of water is highest so it is said that at 4 degree centigrade the mass of 1 litre water is one kg. And for this anomalous expansion of water in cold countries the water pipes became broken when the temperature is lower than 4 degrees. This anomalous expansion proved by hopes experiment. For this expansion of water in cold countries the ponds have ice on the surface of the pond but the fishes can still live under the ice in water.
