Step-by-step explanation:

  • So a bell rings at every 18 seconds and another bell rings at every 60 seconds.
  • So if the two bells rings at a time then we need to find after how many seconds the bell rings at a time once again.
  • So the bells will ring simultaneously again after the LCM of 18 and 60 seconds. So we get
  •                         2      18       60
  •                         2        9       30
  •                          3        9       15
  •                                    3        5
  •   So we have  2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 5 = 180 seconds
  • Therefore both the bell will ring at a time after 180 seconds or 3 minutes.
