I think to be a good teacher you need to be approachable and engaging, you need to have clear objectives, and effective discipline skills. You need to have good classroom management skills, and be an effective communicator with not only the students, but also the parents. A teacher needs to be knowlegable of not only the subject material, but curriculum and standards. Most importantly you need to love kids and love to teach to have a good rapport with your students, plus that passion will keep you motivated to be the best you can be for your students. A qualified teacher isn’t just one thing they are all of these characteristics put together. It’s not always easy but you have to have patience and love what you do.
