Given : A bicycle shop sells the following number of bicycles from 1990 to 2000.

To Find :  Compute the first three moving averages of length 3 for the bicycle sales data and  place them in line with the corresponding year.

Solution:

length 3

1st moving average for 3 years from 1990 to 1992

= (3 + 3 + 3)/3  = 3

And middle year is 1991  is corresponding year

2nd moving average for 3 years from 1991 to 1993

= (3 + 3 + 3)/3  = 3

And middle year is 1992   is corresponding year

3rd moving average for 3 years from 1992 to 1994

= (3 + 3 + 6)/3  = 4

And middle year is 1994    is corresponding year
