GIVEN:

  • total number of revolution made by a bicycle = 5000
  • Distance covered = 11km

TO FIND:

  • the diameter of the wheel = ?

EXPLANATIONS:

Let the radius of the wheel be r cm.

Now , distance covered by wheel in one revolution

 \sf \:  \frac{distance \: moved}{no. \: of \: revolutions}

= 11/ 5000km

( \frac{11}{5000}  \times 1000 \times 100) \: cm \\  \\  = 220 cm

Now , the circumference of the wheel = 220cm.

We know that ,

2πr = 220 cm

πd = 220 cm

 \sf \: diameter \:  =  \frac{220 \times 7}{22}  \\  \\  \sf \: diameter \:  = 70cm

Answer:

The diameter is 70 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the radius of the wheel be r cm.

Distance covered by the wheel in one revolution =

5000

11

 km = 220 cm

2πr=220

2×

7

22

×r=220

r=35 cm

Diameter = 2r=70 cm
