 \large \bold{ \underline{ \underline{ \: Answer : \:  \:  \: }}}

 \to 6

 \large \bold{ \underline{ \underline{ \:  Explaination  : \:  \:  \: }}}

Let ,

A big bug ate " x " small bugs on the first day

Each day it ate 5 more bugs than it did on the previcious day so ,

First day = x

Second day = x + 5

Third day = x + 5 + 5

Fourth day = x + 5 + 5 + 5

A.T.Q ,

 \to (x) + (x + 5) + (x + 5 + 5) + (x + 5 + 5 + 5) = 54

  \to 4x + 30 = 54

 \to 4x = 24

 \to x = 24 / 4

 \to x = 6

Hence , the required number is 6
