then

null hypothesis H0

the number of smokers and non smokers are equal

then

test statistic

P-Q = 0.5417 -0.5 = 2.04

then z = 2.04

value of z at 5% level of significance for right tailed test is 1.645

since Z> tabulate value of z we reject null hypothesis
