Given :- A big cube has each portion of 44 cm. Tiny cubes of 4 cm portion each are cut from that. Then how many tiny cubes will be formed that are surrounded by at least one cube ?

(1) 888

(2) 729

(3) 164

(4) 33

Solution :-

→ Length of each portion of big cube = 44 cm.

and,

→ Length of each portion of tiny cube = 4 cm.

then,

→ Total length is divided into = 44/4 = 11 parts.

So,

→ x + 2 = 11

→ x = 11 - 2

→ x = 9 cm.

therefore,

→ The number of cubes will be formed such that each face of these cubes is surrounded by other cubes is = (x)³ = (9)³ = 729 (2) (Ans.)
