A big cube of 20 cm side having all of its sides green coloured is cut into small cubes of side 4 cm .How many such small cubes can be formed that will be having only one coloured face?

Volume of cube = a³ = 20³= 8000 cm³

If cubes of edge (b=4cm) is made from the cube,then

It's volume = 4³= 64 cm³

Let p cubes can be made .

Therefore,

Volume of large cube= p x Volume of small cubs

a³ = pb³

→8000= p x 64

→p = 125

Hence 125 cube can be made from the large cube of edge 20cm.

Number of cubes only face painted=

 {(m - 2)}^{2}  \times 6

 =  {(5 - 2)}^{2}  \times 6 =  {3}^{2}  \times 6 = 9 \times 6 = 54
