Solution :

• Initial speed of the bike - 10 m/s

• Rate of acceleration - 2 m/s²

We have to find the velocity at which the bike is travelling after 5 seconds .

As per the first law of motion , v = u + at

>> v_5 = 10 + 2×5

>> v_5 = 10+10 = 20 m/s .

Answer : The velocity of the bike after 5s is 20 m/s.

Additional Information :

The three laws of motion are -

(a) v = u + at

(b) s = ut + ½at²

(c) v² - u² = 2as

Given :

  • A bike is travelling at 10 m/s. If it is accelerating at 2 m/s² .

To find :

  • Velocity .

Answer :

Let us know about Velocity .

Initial velocity describes how fast an object travels when gravity first applies force on the object .

As in question given that

 \rm \: Initial \:  speed \:  of  \: the bike  \\  \rm  = \red{10m \: per \: sec}

 \rm \: Acceleration \:  = \red{ 2 m/s²}

Laws of Motion

\begin{gathered}\begin{gathered} \large \qquad \boxed{\boxed{\begin{array}{cc} \maltese \: \: \bf v = u + at \\ \\ \maltese \: \: \bf s = ut + \dfrac{1}{2}a {t}^{2} \\ \\ \maltese \: \: \bf{v}^{2} - {u}^{2} = 2as\end{array}}}\end{gathered} \end{gathered}

Now, we can easily find

 \sf \: V_5= 10 + 2 \times 5

 \sf V_5 = 10+10 = 20 m/s \:

Hence , the velocity of bike after 5 second is 20 m/s.
