A bike rider has to catch a bus which is already
3 hours on its route. How long will it take for the
rider to catch the bus, if the rider's speed is 80 km/h
and the bus is moving at a speed of 60 km/h?

Speed of the rider = 80 kmph

Speed of the bus = 60 kmph

Net speed = 80 - 60 = 20 kmph

Speed = distance / time

Time = distance / speed

Distance covered by the bus = 3 × 60 = 180 km

Time required to reach the bus = 180 / 20 = 9 hours
