Given

u = 0 m/s

v = 72 km/hr = 20 m/s

s = 40 m

To find

Acceleration

Solution

v^2 - u^2 = 2as

20^2 = 2a(40 m) {u=0}

400 = 80a

a = 400/80 = 5 m/s^2
