Explanation:

Given,

Distance = 500 m

Time = 30 seconds

Speed = Distance/Time

          = 500/30

Speed  = 16.7 m/s

Velocity = 16.7 m/s towards south.

speed = distance/ time = 500/30 = 16.6m/s

From 1st equation of motion ,

v = u + at

where v is velocity , a is acc , t is time , u is initial velocity

=> v = 0 + 9.8(30) = 294m/s
