Given:

• A bike travel a distance of 500m in 30second south ward.

To find:

The speed and velocity of the bike.

Solution:

 \sf \maltese \:  \: \underline {Speed \: of \: the \: bike}

e know that,

\sf{Speed=\frac{Distance}{Time}}\\

★ Putting values in the formula

 \sf{ \rightsquigarrow \: {S =  \frac{500}{30} = 16.6 \: m/s }} \\

 \sf\maltese \:  \: \underline{Velocity \: of \: the \: bike}

We know that,

v=u+at ( From first equation of motion)

Here,

v is velocity

u is initial velocity

a is acceleration

t is time

Putting values in the formula

» v = 0 + 9.8(30)

» v = 294m/s

Therefore,

Speed of the bike = 16.6m/s

Velocity of the bike = 294m/s

Additional information:

• First Equation of Motion » v=u+at

• Second Equation of Motion » s=ut+1/2at^2

• Third Equation of Motion » v^2=u^2+2as
