A biker covers a straight road distance of 28km in 20 minutes when he is riding in the direction of wind. He coversthe same distance in40 minutes when he is riding in the direction opposite to the wind. How fasthe cover the distance if thereis no wind blowing

Given that ,

Distance travelled , d = 28 km

Time taken in travelling along the direction of the wind,t1 = 20 minutes(or)1200 seconds

Time taken in travelling opposite to the direction of the wind,t2=40min(or)2400seconds

Formula :

T = 2 × t1 × t2 / t1 + t2

T = 2 × 20 × 40 / 20 + 40

T = 1600 / 60

T = 80/3 minutes (or) 26.6 minutes (or) 1600 seconds (approx).
