a bird flies north at 20m/s for 15sec.it rests for 5sec and then flies south at 25m/s for 10sec.for the whole journey of the bird find(a)average speed(b)average velocity.

(a) Total distance travelled = 20*15 + 25*10 = 550
Average speed = Total distance travelled/ Total time taken
= 550/ 15+5+10
= 55/3 m/s

(b) Total displacement = 20*15 - 25*10 = 50
Average velocity = 50/30 = 5/3 m/s

now V3 = 25m/s for t3=10s
