A bird flies towards east at 10 m/s for 100 m. It then turns around and flies at 20 m/s for 15 s. Find (a) Its average speed (b) Its average velocity​

velocity = 8m/s west

Explanation:

100m = 100/10 = 10s

displacement in east = 100

distance travelled towards west = 20*15 = 300m

Net displacement = 100 i + 300 (-i) = -200 i

Average velocity = change in speed / Total time = \frac{200}{10+15}=8
