A bird of mass 0.5 kg is flying with a constant speed maintaining the

same height of 5 m. In this state if its kinetic energy and potential energy

are equal.

a) What is the potential energy of the bird?

b) What is the velocity of the bird?

Potential energy at a height = mgh —— ( only applicable for small heights)
So PE = 0.5* 10* 5 = 25 joules

B)
1/2 * m*(v^2 ) = mgh (KE = PE)
Taking g as 10m/s^2

1/2*v^2 = 25
V^2 = 50
Velocity of bird = 5root 2m/s = 7m/s approx
