a bird sitting on a high voltage line does not get electrocuted..why?

HEY MATE!!!!
This is because a person or an object is only electrocuted when the electricity pass through the body of the object or person to get into the ground to complete the circuit.
But since here the bird is sitting on a high voltage line and has no contact with the ground so the circuit doesn't complete.
You will see the same when you are sitting in a car and a high voltage electric shock strikes you from the sky during Thunder .The electric shock will pass through the car metals body into the ground and the person sitting in the car will remain safe..
