A bird watcher on a Cliff Spotted at Kingfisher 7cm above him . Earlier he had seen it below him. what was the change in altitude of Kingfisher​

suppose the distance above the cliff is represented by a positive integer.

Then the distance below it is represented by a negative integer.

Thus, change in altitude of the kingfisher

= 7m -(-11m) = 7m + (additive inverse of-11)

= 7m + 11m = 18m

Hence the change in altitude of the kingfisher is 18m.
