Maximum displacement is when the person turns left and then a right every 10 steps.

Then the path would look like a staircase .

Here , the right triangle can be formed where one side is 80×2 because he takes 2 rights and the other side is 80×2 as he takes 2 lefts too and total turns he makes is 4 in 40 steps.

So the diplacement is the hypotenuse of this triangle.

Displacement = √(160×160)2 =√25600×2 =√51200 = 226.27 cm

Hope it helps.

Answer:

32m

Explanation:

This person walked 10 steps which is equal to 80 cm. convert 80cm to meters .Which is equal to 8 m.

then 40 steps are equal to 80*40/10 = 32

finding displacement :

root over 8^2+32^2 = 32
