Question

A block of cheese has a volume of 354 cm³ and a mass of 300g . What is the density of the cheese in g/cm³ rounded to 2 decimal places ?

Answer

 = \sf 0.85 \: g \: cm^{ - 3}

Solution

Given that the Volume of block = 354 cm³

Mass of Block = 300 g

Density of Cheese Block = ?

We know that ,

 \tt \: Density =  \dfrac{Mass}{ Volume}

Therefore, the density of Cheese block can be calculated by dividing the Mass of Cheese block i.e 300 g to its corresponding volume is 345 cm³.

Let's Proceed Calculation !

 \tt Density =  \dfrac{300}{354}  =  \dfrac{ \cancel2 \times 2 \times  \cancel3 \times 5 \times 5}{ \cancel2 \times  \cancel3 \times 59}  \\  : \rightarrow \dfrac{50}{59}  =  \bf0.84745(approx)

Now , it is mentioned in the question that Density of Cheese block is to be calculated upto 2 dp

Therefore ,

Density of Cheese Block = 0. 85 g/cm³
