Given:-

dimensions of lead \left(4.5cm\times5.2cm\times6cm\right)

mass of the lead, m=1587 g=1.587 kg

To Find:-

density of lead

Explanation:-

density of any material is defined as the ratio of mass to the volume

\Rightarrow \text{Volume, }V=4.5\times5.2\times6=140.4cm^{3}=140.4\times10^{-6}m^{3}\\\\\text{Now,}\\\\\text{density, }\rho=\dfrac{m}{V}=\dfrac{1.587}{140.4\times10^{-6}}=11303.42kg/m^{3}\\\\\text{Therefore, density of given lead block is }11303.42kg/m^{3}

Given info : A block of lead has dimensions of 4.50 cm by 5.20 cm by 6.00 cm. The block weighs 1587 g

To find : the density of lead is ...

solution : first find volume of block of lead.

volume of block = l × b × h

= 6 cm × 5.2 cm × 4.5 cm

= 140.4 cm³

= 1.404 × 10¯⁴ m³ [ ∵ 1cm³ = 10¯⁶ m³ ]

now density = mass/volume

= 1587g/(1.404 × 10¯⁴m³)

= (1587 × 10¯³ kg)/(1.404 × 10¯⁴m³)

= 11303.42 kg/m³

Therefore the density of the lead is 11303.42 kg/m³
