QUESTION

A block of mass 1 kg is placed on a light frictionless plank as shown in the figure. A force of 10N is applied on the plank. Find Acceleration (g=10m/s).

SOLUTION

=> m = 1kg

=> f = 10N

=> a = ?

formula :- a = f ÷ m

=> a = 10 ÷1

=> a = 10m/s²

=> So, the acceleration is 10m/s².

information about this formula.

=>Subtract this force from the applied force to find the acceleration of the object. The formula is acceleration (a) equals friction (F) divided by its mass (m) or a = F ÷ m as per Newton's second law.
