A block of mass 10 kg is held at rest against a rough vertical wall (μ= 0.5 ) under the action a force F as shown in figure. The minimum value of F required for it is (g=10 ms-2)

Given conditions ⇒

Mass of the Block = 10 kg.

Coefficient of the Friction = 0.5

Normal Reaction = mg = 10 × 10 = 100 N.


Limiting Friction = Coefficient of the Friction × Normal Reaction

= 0.5 × 100 = 50 N.


Now, When the Force greater than the 50 N will be applied than only the object can move.


The Options are wrong. None of the Option is true.

.....you are wrong how u can take normal reaction is equal to mg which is downwards while normal reaction is the contact force means force between two connected surfaces
