Answer:

Tensions in the strings T₁ and T₂ are 100/ √3 and  200/ √3 respectively.

Explanation:

Given: Mass, m = 10 kg

           Strings with tension t₁ and t₂.

    Angle made by t₂ = 30

To find: Tensions t₁ and t₂.

Solution: Let us draw the components of tensions along the horizontal and vertical plane.

From the horizontal, we have:

                T₁ = T₂ sin 30 _______(1)

From the vertical, we have:

                T₂ cos 30 = mg _______(2)

From (2), we have:

                  T₂ × √3/ 2 = 10 × 10

                    T₂ = 100 × 2/ √3

                    T₂ = 200/ √3 _______(3)

Putting the (3) in (1), we obtain:

                T₁ = 200/ √3 × 1/2

                T₁ = 100/ √3

Therefore, the tensions in the strings T₁ and T₂ are 100/ √3 and  200/ √3  respectively.
