A block of mass 10 kg placed on rough horizontal surface having coefficient of friction 0.5,if a horizontal force of 100 N is acting on it then acceleration of the block will be(g=10 m/s2)

Given


Mass (M) = 10kg


Co-efficient of friction (K) = 0.5


Horizontal force = 100 N


g = 10m/s2


Solution


Normal reaction = M * g = 10 * 10


Normal reaction = 100N


Friction force (F) = K * 0.5 = 0.5 * 100 = 50N


F = Ma


50 = 10 * a


a = 5 m/s2


a = 5 m/s2 is the direction of force
