we have,
- mass of the truck, m = 1400 kg
- initial velocity, u = 15 m/s
- resistive force, f1 = -250N (opposite direction)
- accelerating force, f2 = 600N
[ resistive force = force acting opposite to velocity of the object, so resistive force is taken as negative]
here,
net force = resistive force + accelerating force
- F = f1 + f2
➪ F = -250N + 600N
➪ F = 350 N
and we know that,
- force = mass × acceleration
• F = ma
➪ 350 = 1400 × a
➪ a = 1400/350
➪ a = 4 m/s²
now, we have to find distance traveled by the truck in 10 Seconds;
by second equation of motion
s = ut + ½ at²
➪ s = 15 × 10 + ½ × 4 × (10)²
➪ s = 150 + ½ × 4 × 100
➪ s = 150 + 2 × 100
➪ s = 150 + 200
➪ s = 350 m
so, distance traveled by the truck in 10 seconds is 350m
