A block of mass 2.0 kg is on a horizontal plane of
coefficient of friction 0.5. By applying 6.0 newton
force on it, frictional force will be (g = 10 m/s2);
(a) 10 newton
(b) 6 newton
(c) 16 newton
(d) 4 newton.

Answer:

b) 6

maximum value for static friction is 10N but the force applied is only 6N hence static friction being limiting thus the block will face a frictional force of 6N which is enough to stop the block from sliding
