As,
S = vt + 1/2 at^2
As block falls 5 m height in 2 seconds after releasing from its rest position.
So,
acceleration = a = 2.5 meter per second
As we know that,
a = g / 1 + I/m R^2
By substituting the values, we get
2.5 = 10 / 1 + I/ 2 x (0.5)^2
Hence,
I = 1.5 kg meter square
