Explanation:

I = 1/2 x 3 x 4 - 1/2 x 1.5 x 2        

 = 6 - 1.5 = 4.5 N-s

Change in momentum = Pf - Pi/0 = 4.5          

                                      = 2 x v = 4.5

                                  v = 2.25 m/s

As we know that

K.E = 1/2 mv^2

     = 1/2 x 2 x (2.25)^2

    = 5.06 J

Thus the kinetic energy of the block is 5.06 J
