A block of mass 2 kg is placed on the floor . The coefficient of static friction between the two surfaces is 0.4. A horizontal force of 2.5 N is applied on the block as shown. what is the force of friction between the block and the floor?

Hello,

Mass = 2 kg
Coefficient = 0.4
Force = 2.5 N.
As f = xmg
where x is coefficient of friction.
=> f = 0.4 × 2 × 10
Therefore frictional force = 8 N.
