A block of mass 37 kg is resting on a horizontal surface. Find the minimum
force required to just move the block horizontally if the coefficient of static
friction between the two surfaces is 0.3.​

  • Mass of object = 37 kg
  • Coefficient of static friction = 0.3

We know that ,

 \sf  \fbox{Force = μ_{s} \times  m \times g}

Where ,

 \sf μ_{s} is the coefficient of static friction force

m is the mass of an object

g is the acceleration due to gravity

Substitute the known values , we get

F = 0.3 × 37 × 9.8

F = 108.78 Newton

Hence , 108.78 newton is the minimum force required to just move the block horizontally
