Here we have
Mass = 5kg

Initial velocity , u = 0 m/s

Final velocity , v = 2m/s

Time , t = 4 s

Acceleration produced in the block , a = v - u / t
= > 2 - 0 / 4
=> 2 / 4
=> 0.5 m/s^2

Force , f = m × a
= 5 × 0.5
= 2.5 N

Therefore , we have to apply a force of 2.5 N to give it a velocity of 2m/s in 4 s
