A block of wood in the shape of a cuboid has length =2.5 m, breadth=1.5 m and height= 2 m. How many cubical block each of edgs 50 cm can be cut from it. ( Hint: convert all of the length in cm ( 1m = 100cm), Find the volume of wood then find the volume of cubical block. To get the number of block - divide volume of wood by volume of cubical block.)

Volume of a cuboid with length L=2.5m

breadth B=1.5m

height H= 2m

=>L×B×H =2.5×1.5×2 =7.5 sq .metre = 7.5 ×100cm×100cm×100cm =

Volume of a cube of length a =50cm =50×50×50

cubic centimetre= 125×1000

cubic centimetre = 1.25×10^5 cubic centimetre .

No. of blocks cut from the cuboid = 7.5×10^6/1.25×10^5 =60 .
