★ Given:

A block of wooden cube of edge 5 m.

Rectangular pieces of dimensions 20 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm.

★ To Find:

The no. of cuboids that can be cut from the cube.

★ Formulae to be used:

\sf{1\:m^3=1000000cm^3}

\sf{Volume\:of\:cube=a^3}

\sf{Volume\:of\:cuboid=lbh}

★ Solution:

First we will find the volume of the cube.

Edge of the cube = 5 m

Volume = a³

= 5³

= 5 x 5 x 5

= 125 m³

To convert m³ to cm³ - multiply with 1000000.

125 m³ = 125000000 cm³

Now we will find the area of the cuboid.

Length = 20 cm

Breadth = 10 cm

Height = 10 cm

Volume = lbh

= 20 x 10 x 10

= 2000 cm³

No. of cuboids that can be cut from the cube

\sf{=\dfrac{Volume\:of\:cube}{Volume\:of\:cuboid}}

\sf{=\dfrac{125000000}{2000}}

\sf{=62500\:cuboids}

Therefore the required no. of cuboids is 62500.

Required Option is Option D.
