Given : density of the block = 0.8 x 10³ kg/m³

            mass placed = 1.6 kg

given wooden block just sinks when mass is placed

⇒ Force of buoyancy developed

     F = (density of liquid) x (volume of the block) x g

    F = 1000 kg/m³ x V x 10   ---------(1)

total force balanced by force of buoyancy

     F = (weight of block + 1.6 ) x g

 ⇒ F = (800 x V  +  1.6 ) x 10    -----------(2)

from (1) & (2) ,

⇒ (800 x V + 1.6) x 10 = 1000 kg/m³ x V x 10

⇒ 16 - 10 = (1000-800) x V

⇒ V = 6 / 200 m³

   ∴ V = 0.03 m³
