the block will exert minimum pressure if its surface of maximum area that is the surface of dimensions 12 CM * 9 CM is in contact with tabletop
As force on the tab=weight of the block=F=6.3N
surface area of the block,A=12cm*9cm
=12/100* 9/100
=108/10000m sq
pressure= F/A
= 6.3*10000/108
= 583.33 Pa

surface area of the block,A=12cm*9cm
=12/100* 9/100

pressure= F/A
= 6.3*10000/108
= 583.33 Pa

Suface 1 Surface 2 Surface 3
Area= 12 x 7 = 84cm² Area= 7 x 9 = 63cm² Area= 12 x 9 = 108cm²
Force= 6.3N Force= 6.3N Force= 6.3N
Pressure(P₁)≈ 0.08N/cm² Pressure(P₂)≈ 0.1N/cm² P₃≈ 0.06N/cm²
∵ P₂ > P₁ > P₃
Suface 3 with dimensions 12cm by 9cm will exert the minimum pressure.
