Answer:

DEPENDS

Explanation:

Given :-

Length = 1.5 m

Breadth = 1m

Height = 0.5m

Mass = 300kg

I will be assuming g = 9.8 m/s^2

The pressure at the bottom surface of the block depends on how the block is kept.

If the Length and breadth sides of the block are in contact with the table,

then

Area in contact = 1.5 x 1

= 1.5 m^2

Force = mg

= 300 x 9.8

= 2940 N

Average pressure = Force / Area

= 2940 / 1.5

= 1960 Pa

If the Length and height sides are in contact with the table,

then

Area in contact = 1.5 x 0.5

= 0.75 m^2

Force = 2940 N

Average pressure = 2940 / 0.75

= 3920 Pa

If the breadth and height sides are contact with the table,

then

Area in contact = 1 x 0.5

= 0.5 m^2

Force = 2940 N

Average pressure = 2940 / 0.5

= 5880 N
