QUESTION ---- . a boat can ferry 1500 passengers across a river in 12 hrs. how many round trips does it make during the journey? i. the boat can carry 400

ANSWER
_____________________________

The boat can ferry 1500 passengers in 12 hours

It can 400 passengers at a time

So, If it goes once to the other side it takes 400 passengers with it.

While returning it ferries even 400 more people to this side of the river.

So total Passengers ferried in 1 Round Trip = 800

Thus in order to ferry Total 1500 passengers

It will make just 2 Round trips
i.e. 400 again to that side and 300 to this side

_______--_______________________

ANSWER = 2 Round Trips
