Speed of boat in still water is 14 km/hr and speed of current is 4 km/hr...

Step-by-step explanation:

Let speed of boat in still water is x km/hr

and speed of current is y km/hr.

ATQ,

x - y = 10 -i

(Speed of current is subtracted from that of boat in upstream)

and

x + y = 18 -ii

(Speed of boat is added to speed of current in downstream)

now,solving i and ii

We get, 2x = 28

so x = 14

now putting value of x in ii.

We get, y = 4..
