a Boat covers 32 km upstream and 36 km downstream in 7 hours also it cover 40 kilometre upstream and 48 km downstream in 9 hours find the Stream speed of boat in still water and that of the stream

Upstream=x-y
Time =
 \frac{distace}{speed }
Case 1 =
 \frac{32}{x - y}
Downstream = x +y
 \frac{36}{x + y}
 \frac{32}{x - y}  +  \frac{36}{x + y }  = 7

vaaaaniiii: yeah even i thought of the same thing but whatever i do, i get the speed of the stream (i.e y=(-6) :(
