Step-by-step explanation:

we have 2 scenario upstream and downstream. if the boat is floating along the stream with same velocity, It is called as downstream(B+S). and if the boat is floating against the stream with same velocity is called upstream(B-S). here B and S are abbreviation of boat and stream respectively .In this case distance traveled by boat in the upstream and downstream are same.

Take we know stream(s) speed is 4kmph.

distance traveled in upstream = distance traveled in downstream

(B-S)time in upstream=(B+s) time in downstream

(B-4)2.5=(B+4)2

B=36kmph.
